ABOUT
Origins
G4G is a ministry that was created by God and founded by Ben aka "Woodz" in the summer of 2016 with the mission to bring young people wrapped up in a life of crime and gangs from the roads to Christ, using more unconventional methods.
We started out giving mix tapes on the streets of Newham with no clue on how to reach the lost, but as the years have past and the exploits continue, we can say that the growth in so many areas has been immense, and we’re still growing. The team has grown strong along with the ministries reach via media platforms, especially with the music scene embracing the genre “gospel drill”.
Since our humble beginnings, G4G has been privileged to expand internationally. We currently have members in Holland, Germany and Spain, with the intention to venture into more countries around the world and impact these parts delivering the gospel reaching those who may seem unreachable. Our growth is a true testament to the movement of God taking place and we are excited to see what comes next.
The Mission
Goons 4 God has 3 main aims:
1) Intervention:
To reach out to the “Goons” already on the streets and help them to come to Christ.
2) Prevention:
To prevent any of our young people wanting to become “Goons” and helping them come to Christ
3) Opportunity:
To give our young people focus and support to help them achieve their goals, whether it be through further education, employment and mentoring which in turn will keep them away from the streets.
How? Goons 4 God currently has 5 main ways of achieving these:
Evangelism AKA Ride Outs
From the first day G4G went out on the streets of East London, evangelism always has been and forever will be our bread and butter. Going into estates, speaking to young people, sharing the gospel in a way that can relate to them.
Street Preaching AKA Double Edge
Street preaching has always been a tool used by church’s around the world and has now become an integral part of what we do. The authentic content is relatable and current to this days generation. Seeing what God has already done, we look forward to the many more testimonies to come.
Outreach AKA Block Church
Going into estates and setting up a church service isn’t always the most welcome thing on a Sunday when most are trying to relax; However, its necessary because many don’t want to come church, so we decided to do something different and bring church to the hood, where they need most.
Prisons
A few years ago, we were positioned to start our venture into a prisons; however, the global pandemic hit, which put a halt on the progress. Fast forward to today, we have teamed up with various organizations and chaplains to go back into prisons, ministering to individuals by means of music, evangelism and testimony, which has been amazing to see.
Schools
Having done a few group mentoring sessions at a school in the early days, we quickly realized the need to be present in these settings effecting positive change amongst the youth. Recently we have partnered up with a couple of organizations, delivering knife crime projects to schools in East London. We will continue to remain faithful, expectant to see meaningful change amongst the pupils we engage with.
